As the Manager of Capital Strategy & Governance within the Consumer Capital – Market Leadership Team (MLT), you will hold a key leadership role in managing a $300M+ capital portfolio that supports the Consumer Wireless and Wireline businesses. You will lead a small but powerful team in this role.

 

A primary focus of this role is leading the annual capital planning and prioritization process for the MLT portfolio. You will be responsible for driving alignment with strategic priorities, enabling trade-off decisions, and ensuring capital investments deliver maximum value to customers, team members, and shareholders.

 

You will also oversee the broader governance and performance management of the portfolio, providing strategic insights and financial analysis to support executive decision-making. This includes partnering with senior stakeholders across business and finance, evolving planning and governance practices, and championing capital efficiency initiatives.

 

You are a dynamic, results-driven leader with a strong foundation in financial and business planning. You demonstrate sound judgment, thrive in fast-paced environments, and lead through influence. Your ability to challenge the status quo, engage with executives, and build trust across cross-functional teams will be essential to your success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

    • Lead the annual capital planning and prioritization process for the $300M Consumer Capital portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and maximizing financial outcomes
    • Deliver monthly capital performance insights to senior leaders to guide decisions and track progress toward financial and strategic goals
    • Identify opportunities for capital efficiency and implement governance improvements
    • Support business case development and investment planning across cross-functional teams
    • Build strong, trust-based relationships across TELUS Consumer Solutions
    • Manage a small team with significant responsibilities of managing an important capital portfolio 
    • Promote a culture of accountability, strategic focus, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

 

 

What You Bring:

 

    • 5–7 years of relevant experience in capital strategy, governance, or financial planning
    • Proven leadership presence and ability to influence at all levels, including executive
    • Strong business acumen, with advanced analytical and strategic thinking skills
    • Experience managing or mentoring cross-functional teams is an asset
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data and insights
    • Telecommunications industry experience is a plus
    • Proficiency in SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, and LookerStudio
Salary Range:  $102,000-$154,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  20%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
